Beauty Reviews 02

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation 30ml
Colour: Light Beige
PROS: Love the packaging. Full coverage with gorgeous natural finish. The coverage is perfect, not too heavy and not too light.
CONS: Not suitable for sensitive skin, since many complaints about breakouts and having red bumps after using it (didn’t happen to me). Staying power isn’t that great. I have dry skin and this foundation makes my skin looks patchy and cakey after few hours. RM130 per bottle.
— Won’t repurchase 3/5

Marc Jacobs Re(MARC)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate 22ml
Color: 33 Beige
PROS: Beautiful bottle. Comes in 24 shades. Light weight. Oil-free. Long lasting. You only need a dot to cover an area! Got mine in yellow undertone, so my face will have (almost)the same tone as my neck, since I have the Asian/ medium/ tanned/ yellow skin. Gives me full coverage. Yes, it covers everything!
CONS: Not really a “must-have”. Make sure you try it first before you purchase since the foundation comes in several undertones. And also I think RM235 is TOO EXPENSIVE for 22ml!
Will repurchase, when I’m rich. 4.0/5

Australis AC On Tour Kit Contouring & Highlighting Kit
Color: Light
PROS: Not obsessed but I do like it. It’s cheap (AUD$17) and comes in generous size! The highlighting and setting shades are quite nice. This contour palette is workable, but you definitely need to use the 'less is more' approach with the contouring colors since the colors are over-pigmented.
CONS: Powdery/chalky texture, very messy after using. You may refer to the second picture.
Will repurchase. 3.8/5

Anastasia Beverly Hills (Powder) Contour Kit
Colour: Light
PROS: Great packaging! Good texture, not powdery and messy like Australis'. The highlighter is my favourite! The pigments are okay, but you need to blend your brush few times to get the colors out.
CONS: Quite disappointing actually. Honestly, not really impressed considering the hype around this product. Staying power isn’t that great. Not worth the money. If you have doubts of purchasing between ABH and “Kat Von D Shade+Light Contour Palette”, GO FOR KVD!
Won’t repurchase. 3/5

Beauty Reviews 01

Since I always buy things— so I thought, why don’t I give out some reviews? Since I’m not so good in expressing, so I won’t talk so much about it. So sorry if you need more details about the products. These reviews are suitable for them lazyass who wanted to know about the products, but too lazy to read long ass reviews.

Maybelline’s Fashion Brow Duo
PROS: Comes with brown pencil and powder applicator. Love the powder. Pigment is okay; not too intense, just nice.
CONS: I always break the pencil's lead. Is it me, or what. Idk
Won't repurchase.

NYX Full Coverage Concealer
PROS: Damn cheap siaa, RM20+ only. Works okay okay. Suitable for light coverage.
CONS: A bit greasy after awhile, in a/c or not, still greasy after awhile. Does not cover them *obvious blemishes/does not work as “full coverage”.
— Will repurchase. (Cheap mah!)

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation (No. 52)
PROS: Affordable, costs me around RM60+. Love, love, love the product, not greasy and sits nicely on my dry skin. Smells lovely. Long-lasting too!
CONS: Does not cover your blemishes and spots, unlike other thick foundation from other brands.
— Will repurchase.

Soap&Glory Heel Genius Foot Cream
PROS: Damn cheap bought it for only 5 pounds in BootsUK. They also have it here in Sephoras, around RM50+. Super moisturizing and makes my chapped and blistery feet look and feel like new! A product that actually works exactly as it’s meant to! Has that minty, fruity smell.  5/5 for me!
CONS: A bit greasy when first applied.
— Will repurchase.

Sleek MakeUp Blush By 3
PROS: Packaging is great, very NARS-esque and pretty to look at. Pigment is good too.
CONS: I find it too glittery for my face. I prefer matte blusher than glittery, shining blusher so this palette is a total no-no for me. Definitely not day-time appropriate. It feels like I'm using my highlighter as my blusher. Too shiny for me. I was thinking of selling it back on Carousell. HAHA
— Won't repurchase.

Hope you enjoy reading my super-lazy reviews. ‘Til then! x

It's Our 4th!

Here’s the story about the bouquet.

Around 04:50 in the evening, I received a call from an unknown number asking— “Hello, is this Miss Illyana?”— “Yes,” — “Are you home? Because someone sent you a package. I’m right in front of your house right now. Can you come out for a while?”.

OH MY GOD THAT WAS CREEPY. So I asked him, “Package from who?” — “Shazmm..?” — “Who?” — “Shazmm..mmm”. Okay so this is going nowhere I have no idea who Shazmmm is so I decided to open the door to see who is it and I saw the tiffany blue box on my post box. I KNOW THAT BOX MUST BE FROM HARIZ! I opened the grill and walked towards the guy. He was soaked to the skin because of the rain. Oh, poor guy. The moment I was about to say thank you, dad got home and he was starring at the guy suspiciously. Dad even took some photos of the guy’s car, plate number and gave him 2 honks! *cries*

“Thank you,” I said and he smiled, “No Problem!” and ran back to his car. I took the flower and ran into my room before dad gets in. Hahahaha and of course, once he gets in, he called me and ask who was that guy. He got me red-handed man tak boleh lari lah. Hahaha so I told him, Hariz sent me flowers and that was the delivery man. “Where’s the flower? I wanna see”. I took out the flower and he took a picture of it. “What is it for?” — “Today is our 4th year,” — “4th year…?” — “Ya lah, 4th year together,”. Dad was typing something in his Whatsapp.

Masha Allah.

Anyhow, I still feel bad towards the delivery guy so I sent him a text.
ZHARIF? His name’s Zharif? I thought he was Chinese? Okay maybe he’s Chinese looking guy kan who knows. When I was thinking about sarcastically thanking Ayep (Hariz’s friend) for sending me the flower since they share the same name— ZHARIF, Hariz told me that— Ayep was the one who helped him placing the order since his internet connection wasn’t that good back there in Binalonan. OH MY GOD HAHAHA

I’m not sure if this some kind of curse or something but if you remember, 2 years ago when I was in Nottingham, Hariz sent me a bouquet and the delivery guy was waiting for me outside of my apartment, IN THE RAIN TOO! (Click here) Oh my, I feel so bad for that old guy, it was raining heavily and he just stood there with the flowers, in the rain. Shout out to all deliverymen! If you ever received any orders from Hariz with my name on it, please prepare yourself with umbrellas! You can never guess what’s gonna happen. :p

To Hariz, thank you so much for all the love you showered me with. Hope you like the explosion box I made for you. HAHAHAHA yes people, I made that cheesy d.i.y. (explosion box)! Oh my, only God knows the struggles and oh, those youtube nights. Thank you Ika and Banana for bearing with me. WE’VE MADE IT! Oh, I made some love origamis too! Hohohohoho :p

P/S: Turned out the delivery guy had problems in pronouncing Shazmin when I asked him who sent the package earlier. But still, Shazmin is my name, not the sender! xD

Sometimes I feel how selfish I am to complain about my problems. I often forget someone’s reality is the life that I can only dream of it in my nightmares, or it may be worse than that. I pray for, them to find peace one day. My heart aches for them. I pray for, someday they can be at ease. Ameen. :(

I’m Benjamin Buttoning!

"We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls."
~ Anais Nin

Guess I’ve gotten sucked into a time wrap since I completed my Degree last September. I'm getting anxious for the future. What's next? Where am I going? Where do I want to go? And when will I get there? The days have gone by abnormally fast since then. The past two years has been really hectic and now I’m at home all day in my pajamas, every day. My time references have changed completely. What used to feel long as a semester, now feels brief and fleeting, like a long weekend. Instead of measuring the future in class hours, counting down until the next break, I find myself going through the calendars at an alarming rate.

Am I going backwards?

It’s been quite hard for me for not pursuing with the visa application for some reasons, but on the other hand, I got to spend the last 2 hours before my dear grandma left us, forever. (Al-fatihah) There’s so much to rant about, but parents are being parents, can’t really blame them. Tried my luck with local Insurance Agency for 2 months and a half before I realized, for the first time ever in my life, I can’t force myself to do something that I don’t want to do. Thought I was good with “go-with-the-flow”, but I was wrong. So I sent my resumes to a few companies, but it was either I failed the interviews or me no received any replies. But I wasn’t sad about it though, I actually felt relieved.

Being a grown up is actually pretty scary. I find myself stretching myself mulling over what I want to do with my life. What if I push myself the wrong way? What if I screw up? And how am I supposed to know before I try? It is becoming increasingly important to me to spend time with myself, working on discovering more about me, considering there's no one I spend more time with now. But I guess, it is a worthwhile thing, a thing that needs to be done. Slowly, sometimes reluctantly, and definitely with a strong curiosity as I look toward the horizon. At the time being, I’m handling an InstaShop on Instagram. Do check it out! (sugarANDfig) I enjoy selling stuffs and surprisingly, it makes me really happy! But I’m not sure if I want to take it to the next level. For now, I still look at it as a hobby.

I think I am starting to lose interest in (almost) everything. Tsk.

Oh My Perez!

It might sound crazy but just imagine, on the other side of the world, in the heart of New York City, the infamous blogger named Perez (PerezHilton.com), took out his phone, and REPLIED my tweet!!

Can I attach this in my resume?

The sign is clear now. I'M GOING TO HOLLYWOOD!

BareMinerals Customizable 6-Piece Get Started Kit

Well, who doesn’t?

I spend most of my money on food, and makeups! ‘Clothes’ is probably on the third or fourth place, nah I don’t really care. So you can see why I always wear the same stuffs, for years. Em-hm?

Not gonna do any tutorials (yet) since I only enjoy buying, rather than wearing. Oh God, I have problems. Oh what the hell. Look at this beauty, Bare Minerals Started Kit! Definitely my favorite of the month!
This kit is available at all Sephora stores nationwide at RM125 per kit. But believe it or not, I got all these beauties for only RM88! That’s a freaking bargain! This kit is probably gonna be my bargain of the year because first, it’s Bare freaking Minerals. Second, 2 brushes, with a bronzer, primer and finishing powder, all these for only RM88? Do you know how much BareMineral’s brushes cost? They are between RM88 - RM100+ each! This starter kit is currently on promotion so you can’t use your Sephora’s 10% off voucher. Trust me, I’ve tried. :P

As you can see, the big hole on the box there is for the SPF15 Foundation. This foundation is sold separately at RM114 each, if I'm not mistaken. This BareMinerals Customizable 6-Piece Get Started Kit comes with the following;
1.     Prime Time Foundation Primer.
2.     Full Flawless Face Brush.
3.     Flawless Application Face Brush.
4.     Mineral Veil Finishing Powder.
5.     All-Over Face Color in Warmth (bronzer).

If you not too sure what to get for your girl, this is definitely one of the best choices I can suggest you! YOU'RE WELCOME! (:
