London Calling

So, we had our "weekend-getaway" in London last weekend (16/11). Thanks Alexa for having us! One night in London is definitely not enough but fair enough to get some ideas what is London like. Definitely heading down to London again for New Year since my brother is coming to London next month. EEEK!!

P/S: Camera is being a bit bitchy lately. Time to get a new one, maybe... :/

Pemergianmu Tiada Ganti

A great soul serves everyone all the time.
A great soul never dies.

There are no goodbyes for us.
Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
may looking back in memory help comfort us tomorrow.

Wherever you are,
you will always be in our hearts.
Jakarta wont be the same without you.

Om Erwan, you will never be forgotten.

May you rest in peace.

I might have to cancel all the plans to the Europe since winter is coming (Oops, wrong timing!). Travel warnings have been out as UK is going to brace for severe storm and rain. Honestly the wind storm is quite scary though. Sometimes the wind can go up to 112km/h! Seeing my friends stranded here and there 'cause of the storm, guess I need to re-plan something else out soon, hopefully.

You may watch the video here : CLICK ME!

Anyhow, still excited to see the snowflakes. I've seen snow when I went to Japan last time but not the snowflakes. Hopefully I'll get the chance to see one before I leave England! I went to Beijing before with my family, was really excited waiting for the snowflakes as the tour guide told us it's gonna snow anytime soon but hey, it snowed right after we board the flight home. (-̩__-̩)
Oh yes, I can now scratch Halloween out! Finally I can tick Halloween off from my bucket list! It was kinda exciting to go to a Halloween party here. I mean, the people here take dressing-up seriously when it comes to themed events, which what I've been looking for. Thought of taking tons of picture but it was really packed! And I don't think my cute little digital camera will be able to take any good pictures. I've been eyeing this one corpse bride at the party. She's probably my favourite for the night. (Oops!) Plus, the party came with a pretty interesting "background-story", besides of free entry all night!

"Recently discovered under Coco Tang is a network of ancient caves, that some believe to be haunted by the tormented souls of tortured men, the headless bodies of beheaded convicts and the restless souls of their victims. The caves form part of the extensive network that runs under Nottingham and have been undiscovered until now. They run straight under the dance floor in the heart of Coco Tang…and we’re determined to keep the ghosts and ghouls up all night. Our doors creak open at 8pm and the mayhem goes on well into Halloween. Enter Coco Tang through the spiders’ nest where the undead (that’s you!!) can collect a FREE trick or treat shot before 11pm. Descend in to the devilish fun and party right through the witching hour,".

I've also recorded some of the party-deco that caught my eyeballsz : CLICK ME!

Its probably not something that I proud of but its more on my own self-satisfaction. Oh please don't get me wrong. Even mi padre once said when I was little, "When I was younger, I went here and there without telling your grandma or else I wouldn't experience whatever that I have experienced and I have no regret,". [^._.^]ノ彡

Note to my future kids: I can smell whatever you're doing, kid. Just don't let me catch you.

Exchanging Places

I had this one interview with Dr Jan Gothard, Associate Professor in History from Murdoch University WA Australia, in the city campus of Nottingham Trent University (NTU), yesterday evening to share some stories on living in the two countries, Australia and the UK, which I think I would like to share some of the stories with you too.

"What are the worst thing that you faced in the UK?". I would say the worst phase that I faced so far was when I first arrived here, the one that I posted before. So yeah, I dont think I faced anything worse than that, yet.

Somehow, there was this one new thing that I experienced here, that experience I never faced before. I have quite a number of new friends here. We've been going out, hanging out together like normal people until one day, when this one person found out that I am a Muslim, that person started to say something about her view on multi-racial thing which made me started to feel uneasy. I mean, I heard about racism everywhere in the news, Facebook, you name it but I never actually experienced it, like having such conversation with such people, with my own eyes to see the look on their faces, with my own ears to listen what they have to say about other religions, and with my own words to defend myself as a Muslim. I'm not mad, I just find it pretty interesting. (Mungkin ada rasa nak cakar muka dis sikit. Sikit lah.)

"But I heard the anti-Muslim thing has gone viral in Australia. Have you not experienced it before?". There has been massive news about racism towards Islam or anti-Muslims in Australia, so I heard. But so far I can say I never experienced such thing in Perth. Or maybe because I'm not a hijabi so people cant really tell whether am I Muslim or not. But what I do know is, in Perth, like what I heard from my international friend in Perth, she told me that her Chinese friend was once being cursed and been thrown eggs at the bus stand by the locals who passed by with a car. Like I said before, no religion is bad but the people. This person can be racist but we can't say that particular religion is racist and bad.

"When you first came to England, do you have the issues on introducing yourself, whether to tell people you're from Malaysia or Australia?". I can say that Malay is a very unique race because people can't tell what's your belief from your look. And of course they cant even tell where you're from. When I first came here, I was quite disturbed whether to tell that I'm from either Malaysia or Australia. I looked around, trying to listen to other people's intro. They're representing their universities. So I decided to introduce myself as an Australian since I am representing my university. (Lupa daratan kejap) Unless if I have a longer time to intro, I will say that I'm originally from Malaysia but currently studying Murdoch University in Australia, which will leave a big question mark on their faces. But I personally think that it was easy enough to say that I'm from Australia, since some of them didn't even know where Australia is, so let's just forget about explaining where the hell Malaysia is. Plus, it is my job here to promote Murdoch University, so why not?

Woots! Being in the Europe for the first time, gave me the chance to experience jet-lag! I know what jet-lag is but I never know how it feels like until I got here. I was a zombie for 3 freaking days! Don't talk to me or I'm gonna eat you. Alive. It's pretty interesting to talk to someone from Murdoch University as well simply because I can tell what I think about living in the Europe accurately since I can compare it with living in Perth. Of course these two places have their own pros and cons. Here in Nottingham, I live in the big city while in Perth, Murdoch is a bit country side, but still near to the Perth City but still..

"Do you experience culture shock when you first came here?". Coming to Nottingham ain't a shocker to me since I'm from Kuala Lumpur, which is a big city as well. Plus, our malls in Malaysia close at 10:00PM. I think KL is the wildest city so far. I've been to some other Asian countries as well like Japan and China and their shops closed at night as well. It was a shocker to me when I first came to Perth and found out that all shops are closed at 05:00PM.  The only thing that open at night are bars and clubs. Or maybe some restaurants or Starbucks, which closed at 09:00PM. So, coming to Nottingham wasn't a shocker to me anymore since I've been living in Perth and there's nothing much different just that I love it here because everything is walking distance since I'm staying in the city and of course, shopping wise, UK has the best shopping life evahh!

"Are you having a hard time living away from your family?". It's not a problem to me to live away from my family since I've been living away from them since I was in high-school when my family was away in Jakarta Indonesia, I've been jailed in a boarding school, Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar in Mantin Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. I flew back to Jakarta once every three months in a year during semester break.

"Where do you plan to go next? Somewhere that you really wanna go,". I'm planning to go to Niagara Falls (Dr. Jan suddenly giving me a smile). I'm not sure when, but hopefully one day. It's like the first thing in my travel-bucketlist. I wanna see it with my own eyes..

"I went to Niagara last week".

Wait, what?

"I went there last week, in Canada. It was amazing. You should go."

"Come here, I'll show you some pictures of Niagara that I took."

"And this is from the US' side"

"Hahaha yes I did!"

So that's how the one-hour interview ended.

The Bucket List

I have a very loooooooooooooooooong bucket list to cross out.

But for now,

these are the most important points that I think I can cross out first.

┗(`ー´)┓ 4 months left here in England, before I fly back to Malaysia.

I think I need to make up my mind, like, NOW.

(ノ ̄ー ̄)ノ Since I don't have that much of *kaching* with me.

So here's the top two places that I wish I can cross out!

1. Rome, ItalyClick to view
- For the sake of Colosseum! ┗(`ー´)┓

2. Santorini, GreeceClick to view
- The tendency to cry is high due to uncountable number
of honeymoon couples around but ... whatevvs. ヾ(-_- )ゞ *must, stay, strong!*

 Please, please, pretty please!

P/S : Semoga Abah bagi swipe card beliau, Amin..

It's October 12!

(●´□`)♡ I gotta admit.

I have the best boyfriend ever!

One tips for you gentlemen out there,

ヽ(´ー`)ノ "You can never go wrong with flowers".

Woke up to a phone call by a florist,

asking me to come down to pick up my delivery.

So I went down and I saw this one old man

with a man-size bouquet of flowers, patiently waiting in the rain.

Twelve red (most-beautiful I have ever seen) roses and forty-four pink lilies!

〜(^∇^〜)Since he asked the florist to put in more lilies. Aww!

Thank you so much, Sayang.  (´∀`)♡

Now my room will smell like a flower shop for the next (hopefully) two weeks!

What's not to love about waking up to a beautiful bouquet of flowers, ay? ≧(´▽`)≦

(n˘v˘•)¬ Here's raising a toast to the most patient man I know,

the most sophisticated gentleman I know,

(¬‿¬) the clumsiest person I know,

the wackiest person I know,

the most lovable lover I know,

and the best boyfriend I could ever have!

I'm blessed and I couldn't be more grateful!

Happy second anniversary, Mohd Hariz! (⌒▽⌒)☆

Two years down and more to come (insyaAllah)!

So here comes the flowers-galore! (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧

And what's been playing for the whole week.

Have a good week, everybody! ヾ(*´∇`)ノ

Jet Lag

What time is it where you are?
(I miss you more than anything)
I'm back at home you feel so far
(Waitin' for the phone to ring)
It's gettin' lonely livin' upside down
I don't even wanna be in this town
Tryin' to figure out the time zone's makin' me crazy

You say good morning
When it's midnight
Going out of my head
Alone in this bed
I wake up to your sunset
And it's drivin' me mad
I miss you so bad
And my heart heart heart is so jet lagged
Heart heart heart is so jet lagged
Heart heart heart is so jet lagged
Is so jet lagged

What time is it where you are?
(5 more days and I'll be home)
I keep your picture in my car
(I hate the thought of you alone)
I've been keeping busy all the time
Just to try to keep you off my mind
Tryin' to figure out the time zone's makin' me crazy

You say good morning
When it's midnight
Going out of my head
Alone in this bed
I wake up to your sunset
And it's drivin' me mad
I miss you so bad
And my heart heart heart is so jet lagged
Heart heart heart is so jet lagged
Heart heart heart is so jet lagged
Is so jet lagged

I miss you so bad
(I miss you so bad)
I miss you so bad
(I miss you so bad)
I miss you so bad
(I wanna share your horizon)
I miss you so bad
(And see the same sun rising)
I miss you so bad
Turn the hour hand back to when you were holding me...

You say good morning
When it's midnight
Going out of my head
Alone in this bed
I wake up to your sunset
And it's drivin' me mad
I miss when you say good morning
But it's midnight
Going out of my head
Alone in this bed
I wake up to your sunset
And it's drivin' me mad
I miss you so bad

And my heart heart heart is so jet lagged
Heart heart heart is so jet lagged
Heart heart heart is so jet lagged
Is so jet lagged
(Is so jet lagged)

P/S : And I have another 5 more months to go :'(

This is My Gym

Yay me for staying in the city, but oh noooo no no noo no nooooo for the fact that my campus is located in the suburb. But hey, look at the bright side. Now I have reasons to travel to the suburb instead of just walking around the city, right? 15 minutes walk to the bus stand, 30 minutes travel, 10 minutes walk to class. **Crossing out "Gym"**. So here's some pictures I've documented yesterday. Presenting, my everyday-journey to class.

And this is The Glasshouse, the apartment I'm staying in. And as you can see, Aldi, is a supermarket, which makes my life easier. :P
And yes, that's the kitchen, the bar, the toilet, the bedroom, the view from my room and the distance of the toilet from my room's door.

And yes, it MATTERS!
